Wolfgang Bloch was born in Ecuador, where he discovered surfing and the coastline that inspired his work. This work is inspired by the sea, its power and hypnotic beauty, its compositions inspired by the essence of that placidity, although filled with elements that bring complexity and depth into this seemingly straightforward vision. Described as “intense, dramatic, unstable,” his work also uses materials which reflect his complex stance as an artist. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums all over the world, and also published in magazines and books, one of them authored by himself—”Wolfgang Bloch: The Colors of Coincidence.” The book was designed by David Carson and written by Mike Stice. Bloch currently lives in Southern California.
