Chris Hines

About This Project

Chris Hines founded and headed for over ten years the Surfers Against Sewage movement. An environmentalist and influential figure in British society, Hines has kept his focus primarily on solving problems, and his ability to do so helped to channel millions of pounds to protect the British coast. A member and a reference in various committees of the House of Commons and Lords, and the European Commission, Chris was also a special adviser to Rt. Hon Michael Meacher, British Environment Minister. Hines was also awarded some of the most prestigious British awards for his services to the environment, which hasn’t dampened his critical spirit and activist vision that sees in communication the perfect tool to help solve problems. Today he runs his own environmental consultancy – A Grain of Sand.
